Bruno recently traveled to the quarries of the Czech Republic to bring an epic medieval battle into the palm of the viewer’s hand with his new campaign for the Samsung Galaxy S out of Leo Burnett, Chicago. “Epic” exhibits Bruno’s seamless blend of artistic and cutting-edge effects ultimately showing Samsung’s attempt to bring cinema quality entertainment to the palm of your hand.

ABSOLUT VODKA, FLORIA SIGISMONDI
Floria Sigismondi helps continue Absolut's history of collaboration with emerging artists in a new campaign for ABSOLUT BLANK out of TBWA/Chiat/Day NY. 20 artists from around the globe were invited to use the brand's iconic bottle shape as a blank canvas for their creative disciplines. They all converged in Lisbon to finish their artworks and shoot a campaign that has become an art piece in itself. Floria uses her unique visual style to showcase the artists and their work - including painting, sculpture, filmmaking, light installations and murals - "It all starts with an Absolut Blank."

NIKE INSPIRE, GERARD DE THAME
Four months after the catastrophic earthquake and tsunami hit Japan, Gerard de Thame landed in Tokyo to help bring "New Beginnings" with his latest spot for Nike out of Wieden + Kennedy / Tokyo. With parts of the country still in ruins and emotions still raw, de Thame found inspiration in the strength of the people he met and filmed. The director notes, "In people finding themselves through sport, there's the collective message of how people can pull together after tragedy." The spot uses the metaphor of sport to show how Japanese athletes of all types refuse to let their spirits be broken in the face of catastrophe.

DR DRE AND EMINEM, ALLEN HUGHES
Director Allen Hughes lends his creative touch to the highly anticipated "I Need A Doctor." Hughes directed the latest video by veteran hip-hop artist and producer Dr. Dre and protege Eminem. The video stars the legendary rapping duo and features vocalist Skylar Grey. Hughes' superb style shines though as the video recaps Dr. Dre's career and partnership with Eminem, making it the 2nd single off Dre's much talked about and self proclaimed last solo album "Detox."

Continuing his long standing relationship with HBO, Maurice Marable was given access to the outstanding cast and set of the hit series "Boardwalk Empire." His latest promo for the highly anticipated 2nd season already has fans on the edge of their seat wondering what will become of Nucky Thompson's fragile prohibition empire. In addition to his HBO work, Maurice has been busy directing back to back spots with Believe which will be released in the coming month.

TOM FORD, BELIEVE
We are pleased to announce the video launch of Tom Ford's womenswear SS2011 fashion show. In September Tom Ford held an intimate and exclusive gathering to present his SS2011 highly anticipated return to womanwear at his Madison Avenue boutique. He commissioned Believe Media to produce the film and collaborated with Believe director Maurice Marable and DP Zak Mulligan to capture the event. The film is being featured on the Tom Ford website in conjunction with the release of his new line.

Floria just completed a spot/short film for GHD out of RKCR/Y&R London which has received a lot of attention being featured on Creatvity-Online, SHOTS Insight section and picked as Campaign UK’s Ad of the Day. The film is a beautifully crafted piece taking on the classic Cinderella story clearly shown through Floria’s unique creative vision and set to music by LA based band Le Rev.

SONY PLAYSTATION, TOMATO
Simon Taylor of Tomato has teamed up with The Studio (part of Sony Playstation) to create a unique dynamic screen download as part of the PS3 online experience. Named after the mathematician Benoit Mandelbrot who discovered the formula for fractal progression, the piece is built from self referencing generative code. The movement, color and composition never repeat but rather multiply and move infinitely, allowing users who download to navigate their console while the piece plays between gaming.

CANNES, SONY MARILYN, MARCELO BURGOS
Marcelo Burgos was busy last week, picking up a lot of silverware to adorn his shelves. While sunbathing in Cannes, Marcelo picked up two Silver Lions and two Bronze Lions for his Sony Cybershot "Einstein" and "Marilyn" spots while his Sony Playstation "Victor" spot picked up a Silver and a Bronze. All in a day's work.
Marcelo will be available for work after he detoxes from an extraordinary champagne hangover.

MOMA, THE QUAY BROTHERS
Our long standing friends and renowned moving image artists The Quay Brothers, Stephen and Timothy, have landed an exhibition at MoMA in the fall. Quay Brothers: On Deciphering the Pharmacist's Prescription for Lip-Reading Puppets will feature a film retrospective of their avant-garde, stop-motion puppet animation, music videos, short films and signature personal projects in addition to never-before-seen moving image works, graphic design, typography and installations. The exhibit will run from August 8, 2012 - January 7, 2013.

Bruno Aveillan directed the “It’s in our nature” spot for the luxury hotel chain Shangri-La out of Ogilvy which shows a lost and freezing traveler being accepted and saved by wolves as they share their warmth in a frigid landscape.

STUDIO OF THE YEAR, TOMATO
Tomato takes home studio of the year at Grafik Design Awards.
The winners of the Grafik Design Awards were announced last week at a very exclusive ceremony at the Adam Street Members Club in London. The amount of graphic design talent gathered together in one room was mind-boggling — legends such as Wim Crouwel and Peter Saville, established studios including Pentagram, Tomato and GTF, judges Phil Baines, Sara de Bondt, Marina Willer, Emily King and Kate Moross were all in attendance.
Wim Crouwel presented the much-anticipated award for Best Studio. Tomato were the very worthy winners, with Pentagram and Praline runners-up.

TOMATO, FRANKENSTEIN / UNDERWORLD
Oscar winning director Danny Boyle reprises Frankenstein at the National Theatre in London. Danny's long history with tomato/underworld goes back to the classic film "Trainspotting". Underworld scored the music to Frankenstein with John Warwicker of tomato providing visuals for the album.
