MARY ROZZI ▼
Mary Rozzi is an American photographer and director based in Los Angeles, New York and London. After graduating from Parsons School of Design, Rozzi gained an early foothold in the industry by assisting such renowned photographers as Satoshi Saikusa, Michel Comte, and David LaChapelle. She ventured out of New York City in the ’90s for Paris, where her inability to speak French undid her reliance on verbal language and she spent the next decade quiet, refining her visual vocabulary dramatically.
The result is a portfolio of one of the freshest voices in beauty and fashion. Rozzi’s images, both still and moving, express her love of working with women, creating empowered portraits that are often location-driven with the element of story. Models, actors, musical artists and various muses have been subject to Rozzi’s exceptional eye that always discovers the subject’s best-kept secret.
Mary Rozzi is a longtime artistic collaborator of luxury lingerie brand La Perla, who returns to Rozzi time and again to deliver rounds of sumptuous, gorgeous imagery as exquisite as the line itself. Rozzi also frequently works with applauded new shoe and handbag designer, Jerome C. Rousseau. To showcase Rousseau’s Autumn/Winter 2013 collection, Rozzi crafted a visually decadent cabaret story with “Je T’aime.” The short film, featuring French actress Roxane Mesquida, looks at the emotional complexity of the creator/muse relationship.
Rozzi has created worlds of stunning beauty for premiere brands including Ferragamo, Yves Saint Laurent, Neiman Marcus, Peugeot, Olay, Nivea, Eres, and L’Oreal, as well as celebrity portraits of leading actresses Lupita Nyong’o, Anne Hathaway, Charlize Theron, and Jessica Chastain.
